Stunning Libraries Around The Globe

The name “library” comes from the Latin phrase liber, which meaning “book.” Over the course of human history, libraries have consistently accumulated significant collections of books, official documents, and various forms of media. Be sure to visit these libraries if you have the chance to!

Russian State Library

The Russian State Library, which used to be called the Lenin Library but is now called the V.I. Lenin State Order-of-Lenin Library, is the national library of Russia. It is located in Moscow. It has many rare books and manuscripts, such as old Slavonic codices. The Russian State Library is not only one of the greatest libraries in the world but also the national book repository of Russia. It has about 38 million printed books, journals, and serials, making it one of the largest libraries in the world.

Library Of Congress

Washington, DC is home to the Library of Congress, the biggest library in the world and the national library of the United States. The library first opened its doors in the year 1800 and now houses resources in more than 450 different languages. Among them are a Stradivarius violin, a digital archive of Tweets, and the tiniest book in the world (whose pages can only be turned with a needle).

The National Library of China

The People’s Republic of China’s national library is located in Beijing and goes by the acronym NLC, which stands for the National Library of China. It is the largest library in Asia and one of the greatest libraries in the world, with a collection of more than 33,78 million individual pieces. The archives of Chinese literature and historical records it houses are among the most extensive in the world.

The National Library of China is China’s major repository for national publications, a national bibliographic centre, and a national centre for preserving and conserving historic literature. Foreign materials are also collected and preserved by the National Library of China.

Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas Library (SMNA) @ Taman Duta, Kuala Lumpur

The famous scholar who gave the library its name started it in 1987. It is part of the International Institute of Islamic Civilization and Malay World (ISTAC). There are books in both Islamic and western languages in the academic library. It also has 12 private collections and rare manuscripts, among other things. However, the public might not be allowed in there.

Raja Tun Uda Library @ Shah Alam, Selangor

The Raja Tun Uda Library is relatively new, but already it has become a popular family hangout because to its distinct children’s and adult reading rooms. A notable highlight of the library is the children’s area, which is styled after a park and contains a big ‘Reading Tree’ in its centre. One section is designated for creative activities, while another is set aside for participatory entertainment.
